Life Expectancy: 200 Years
Sub-Classes: S Class, A Class, D Class, G Class

    After the crack down on clone processing facilities in 3077, the government had released hundreds of sentient clones from farms world wide. Though the vast majority still remains in processing facilities, many are now privately owned and many newer clones commissioned within the past 6 years (1a.) With corporations selling out their excess inventory of Echos as second hand, or the less friendly term of 'left overs.' Echos have become far more common in the day to day, as they are considered cheaper than a commercial synth (1b.)

    With the popularity in Echos growing, so too has the reports of Rogue Echos (2a.) Echos found to have no contract owner (just like synths) are often repossessed by government facilities and either recycled (2b.) or destroyed (2c.), dependent on the demeanor of the Echo. Legally all clones are considered property and cannot be without a contract holder (2d.)

    Due to human rights concerns Echos have genetic markers to make their status as Fabricant known. A line of genetic coding has left Echos without hair pigment allowing their hair to only vary from natural whites to greys and silvers (3a.) Echos also are unable to naturally pass their own genetic coding to children they surrogate without genetic intervention, essentially making them incubators for natural borns (3b.)

    Echos much like synths are implanted with an identification chip behind the right ear, when scanned if legitimate will give off a host of information about the Echo (4a.)

Echo Classing System

//S-Class, also known as Surrogates, being a common commercial class are used for breeding purposes, due to declining fertility rates. Once primarily only for the Rich or the Gifted, Surrogate Echos have become more available as small businesses are able to purchase second hand surrogates.

//A-Class, also known as Alternates, are one of the rarer class of Echos. Built from the ground up to be perfect, they are created as alternate bodies for their buyers. Privately owned they are pampered and modified knowing that one day they will harvested for their owner.

//D-Class, also known as Donors, the most common to have been released after the government screw up, these Echos are bought second hand from corporations or resellers that have no need of them. They are considered left overs and often are missing parts.

//G-Class, also known as Generals, recently growing to be one of the most popular classes since production of Echos was re-approved. These Echos were made for the outside world and have never seen the horrors of the OrgaFarms. Made for the public they are considered standard for cheap menial labor and entertainment

//Reference Notes

  • 1a. Echos have been 'aware' for the past 6 years, before that they were in a coma like state in harvesting facilities. Though 'newer' Echos could have been grown in that time, most Echos age at a normal rate, while hyper grown Echos do exist, they are rare due to the expensive processing fees.

  • 1b. Echos are still created and harvested commercially as the shut down was overturned due to the Natural Born Laws making it legal again.

  • 2a. Rogue Echos are Echos found to be hiding their Fabricant status, either through masking their ID chip or hiding/removing their Echo Classification Barcode.

  • 2b. Recycling is a process where Echos will essentially be listed for auction or resale.

  • 2c. Destroyed Echos can come back as a clone of themselves but will have no prior knowledge of their former clones life. It is a completely new character that just looks the same.

  • 2d. All Fabricants are considered property without human rights in the eyes of the law. They cannot own rent or inherit property and must be under contract to a private citizen, business, corporation or the city. Echo rights are about as vast as a dog or cats rights.

  • 3a. Echos naturally only have white, silver or grey hair. Otherwise they have natural skin tones and features. Any features such as pointed ears, sharp teeth, claws etc would be cosmetic changes either surgically or cybernetically much like the other races.

  • 3b. Echos cannot produce offspring EchoXEcho without genetic intervention. Any offspring created EchoXHuman/Variant would essentially be born Human, and show no signs of Echo genetics.

  • 4a. The 'Implant' will be an attachable item provided in the hub (once completed).

//General Info Load

  • Legal Standing: Fabricants (i.e Echos and Synths) have no legal rights and are considered to be property in the eyes of the law. Fabricants cannot own or rent property (if you rent on sim it must be considered rented by the characters owner) and must be under contract of a free citizen, business, corporation or contracted to the District.

    Note: Stray, unregistered and runaway Fabricants are possible but risk being hunted by the Wing Cutters.

  •  Physical Markers: Genetically all clones lack in hair pigment allowing them only natural colors varying from white to gray. Skin pigments remain natural in appearance from pale whites to chocolate browns.

  • Cybernetic/Organic Mods: Clones very rarely ever have organic modifications as it is often cheaper to destroy a Clone and have it remade in its entirety. Many clones often have use of cybernetics as the first wave of released clones were discards from major corporations that had already harvested from them.

    Note: Animal'esque tails and ears cannot be organic and must be of cybernetic origin. They must be entirely metallic in                        appearance and are nothing more than fashion statements. They are not permanent parts of the character's body.

  • Echoes, like Humans, are weak to both Sonic Devices and Stun Weaponry, and are stunned for a 2 post duration.
