Synth

Life Expectancy: 100 Years -
Sub-Classes: I-Class, A-Class, E-Class, R-Class, P-Class

Synths ranging from computers to robots and humanoids have become common place in society. Still pricey by most standards they are more often than not owned by corporate or government bodies, though there is a large population of second hand, homebrew and even high end commercial market synths that are owned by the public (1a.)

Within the past 12 years awakened synths have become more prevalent (2a.), at first it had been written off as a fluke, at least up until 3071 when the first awakening happened. Since then any synth found unregistered under the law is either recycled (2b.) or destroyed (2c.)

Registered Synths, regardless of awakened status, are protected under property rights as long as they are under contract to an owner, at any time if a synth breaks the law their contract becomes void, and they are marked as a Rogue Synth (3a.) While most Police honor property rights, government bodies follow federal law and may repossess awakened synths (3b.) Synths much like Echos are implanted with an identification chip behind the right ear for legal reasons (3c.)

Synth Classing System

//I-Class, also known as Industrials, are Synths designed and programmed to work in Industrial settings, such as farms, warehouses, factories, and more menial tasks such as janitorial and maintenance work. I-Class Synths generally have a bulkier design, are less likely to appear fully human [Such as no synthetic skin, hair, or human-like faces], and can often possess extra attachments or specialized limbs that aid in their designed purpose. [Drills, Lifter Claws, Etc.]

//A-Class, also known as Admins, are Synths designed and programmed to serve in an administrative,  bureaucratic, or commercial capacity such as clerks, secretaries, and shop assistants. A-Class Synths generally have a more human-like design, with fully synthetic skin, hair, and human-like faces to better serve as intermediaries for humans in such tasks. Admin Synths are capable of speaking a wide variety of languages and are provided with expanded memory storage capacity due to the nature of their jobs.

//E-Class, also known as Enforcers, are Synths designed and programmed to serve in an enforcement capacity, such as security guards, riot control for police, and in rare cases, military programs. E-Class Synths, depending on their role, will have a semi-human-like appearance, though most often possess a heavily armored design that lacks synthetic skin, hair, and human-like faces. Enforcers are the only class of Synth currently allowed to carry weapons, albeit only in the Non-Lethal Category, and only while on duty.

//R-Class, also known as Responders, are Synths designed and programmed to serve in a First Responder capacity, such as medics and nurses, firefighters, and search and rescue. R-Class Synths generally appear human-like, though depending on their role, may possess different attachments such as fire foam cannons, medical multi-tool hands, or armored frames designed to protect against the elements.

//P-Class, also known as Personals, are Synths designed and programmed to serve to the personal tastes of their owners. Generally reserved to the wealthy, P-Class Synths generally appear human-like, with synthetic skin, hair, and human-like faces and can have a wide variety of skills and duties, depending on what their owner requires.

//General Info Load

  • Legal Standing: Fabricants (i.e Echos and Synths) have no legal rights and are considered to be property in the eyes of the law. Fabricants cannot own or rent property (if you rent on sim it must be considered rented by the characters owner) and must be under contract of a free citizen, business, corporation or contracted to the District.

Note: Stray, unregistered and runaway Fabricants are possible but risk being hunted by the Wing Cutters.

  •  Physical Markers: Synths often display paneled skin though at times can be indistinguishable from humans besides an uncanny valley effect as Synths have distinct and sometimes dramatized features.

  •  Cybernetic/Organic Mods: Synths cannot have organic modifications but have a large variety of cybernetic mods that can be installed.

Note: Animal'esque tails and ears cannot be organic and must be of cybernetic origin. They must be entirely metallic in                                    appearance and are nothing more than fashion statements. They are not permanent parts of the character's body.

  • Synths are the only race permitted to use Manga style heads. Manga heads are considered purely aesthetic for looks, and are most often seen on custom personal models and entertainment models.

Note: Manga/Anime heads are allowed only in this instance, but must still be adult in appearance and fit the theme realistically.

  • Synths are weak to EMP and Ionic Pulse Attacks, stunned for a 2 post duration.
