Rules

1. Must be 18+ Years of Age to Play

By participating in play on an adult sim you agree that you are of 18+ years of age and are a legal consenting adult. (Section 2-2.1 of SL ToS)

2. No Ageplay

All characters must appear 18+ (mentally and physically) while on sim due to mature themes and sexual content. (Section 4-VIII of SL ToS)

3. No Metagaming
Meaning no using information gained in an OOC manner in an IC situation.

4. No Godmodding/Powergaming

Meaning being 'all powerful' and 'godlike' No one wants a 4 hour DBZ style fight...it gets old fast. Dice rules will be set to prevent this, any time players cannot agree on an outcome, dice will be the decider.

5. Consent and Limits

All players have a right to refuse a scene that makes them uncomfortable at any time. That being said, there are consequences to actions. A character cannot rob a bank then claim that being arrested is against their limits.

While the staff heavily supports people talking it out with other players on consequences for actions. There are instances where both parties may not agree.

//In instance of unwanted sexual or violent content (i.e rape, mutilation etc.) Players may Fade to Black and leave scene if it makes them uncomfortable. A staff member can be called in for advisement in regards to consequence if needed, or players can void the scene. (Staff may void whole scene if it is deemed needless and without point)

//In instances of players not liking the outcome to a situation they instigated, players may Fade to Black but a consequence must be decided. If the instigator refuses consequence a staff member can be asked to make a ruling, if the consequence is still refused it may result in a soft ban (or perm ban if this become habit).

6. OOC

Please stay in character in the Roleplay areas and ground level residential areas. Keep all OOC chatter to IMs or the OOC groups. If OOC is needed in the main chat please use [brackets]. Excessive violators of this rule may be kicked or banned.

  • OOC Tag: All OOC players are required to wear an OOC tag.

  • OOC Chat Etiquette: Please keep OOC group chats civil and avoid political and religious debate. If things are getting heated and Management need to intervene— it's gone too far. Continuing after a Moderator ends the debate is grounds for a temporary to permanent ban if the issue continues.

7. Restricted Avatars and Appearance

All avatars must fall under one of the racial categories with little exception. Disallowed avatars include Furries, Aliens, Monsters, Kemono, and Cartoon/Anime style avatars. All characters must be in theme with the sim.

Attachments and accessories must be modern/sci-fi in nature. As well, ears, tails, and other animal-like accessories must appear FULLY MECHANICAL in nature to be allowed.

//Manga/Anime heads are allowed only under the Synth Race. They must appear to be adult and human.

8. Regarding NPC's

Players will not be allowed to wear statues or heavily scripted/animated pets on sim as this can bog things down and result in a rather unpleasant experience for our friends running SecondLife through a potato. That being said, even invisible NPC'd character or pets are not permitted, players may have small drones that may act as body guards if needed and in combat will function as an extension of your character sharing health.

9. Language

District 18 is a Multinational RP sim, meaning there are several different nationalities involved in the creation and upkeep of the sim. Because of this the sim caters to not only just English speakers but also German and French.

Roleplay is primarily in english and we do allow non-intrusive translators to support our player base. Please be polite and courteous with players of all nationalities.

10. Titler & Hud

At this time the Titler and Hud are not required attachments as we heavily encourage players to get to know eachother through roleplay, rather than through floating titles. There are some instances where titlers will be required, which will be listed here.

  • Patrolling Police. Undercover Police DO NOT need to wear a titler.

  • Players hosting events as a group or business.

  • Players assisting with events as NPCs.

  • OOC players must wear an OOC tag.

11. Noise, Spam and Griefing

Excessive noise, chat or particle spam are considered forms of griefing, and will be handled on a case by case basis. Any items that have this built in and cannot be removed must be locked so it will not spam, if it cannot be locked from being spammed then it is recommended that the item is not to be worn.

  • No talking bellies

  • No talking genitalia

  • No particle bursters

  • No chat gestures

Complaint and Report Form

Overall, do not do anything that will affect the sim or player base in a negative way. Ignorance is no excuse for stupidity, the sim is kindly supported by the owner, staff and playerbase. We want only for everyone to enjoy the sim and story. Causing any sort of OOC conflict or stress is not welcome, and will earn a ban if needed.
