The Neural Net

      With the help of implants, wearable eye screens and even headsets, the internet is more accessible than ever. The Neural Net functions as a Beyond World Wide network, accessed even by outer colonies. From Emergency Services to games and social media, the Neural Net covers a wide variety of needs.

​

      There are two groups used for the Neural Net on sim, the first being 'District 18 - Neural Net' the second being under the 'District 18 - Downsider' group used as the 'Dark Neural Net' allowing for players to communicate with other unsavory types. All players communicating through the 'Dark Neural Net' are considered encrypted and hidden, in order to track players in the Downsider group, players will need to RP hacking them. Only players who have posted in the chat during a session are available for hacking.

  • >>   Indicates you are using a Tag Name (A name other than your characters real name)

  • @   Indicates who you are talking to or performing actions against.

Hacking

      Hacking is still under development, a set of temporary rules are in place for the time being. Please review below. If any issue on the legitimacy of rules might be had in regards to one player hacking another, it is advised that the hacker teleport to the target for the rolls in person.

Hacking Players

  • Beat 2 out of 3 high rolls of a 1d20. A failed hack will open the hacker to the target player. Meaning the target will be able to obtain information in regards to who is hacking them if they choose.

Hacking Factions or Corporations

  • Beat 2 out of 3 rolls with a 17+ of a 1d20. Moderator or Designated Staff must be present. All HQs are considered to have NPC staff and security on site, and the player must have valid witnessed RP of entry into the premises. A failed hack will open the hacker to the target group. Meaning the target will obtain the location and legitimate information of the character. (i.e bypassing any forged information)

Feed Etiquette 

      When monitoring the feed in the Neural Net or the Dark Neural Net, in order to use any information found players are required to use the connect/disconnect as displayed above. Any information before a player 'connects' or after a player 'disconnects' is considered meta info, meaning using it will be considered meta-gaming. 

      Players must make an action every 15 minutes to show they are monitoring chat, after 15 minutes without any action a player is considered automatically disconnected from the feed.

      

      If you are taking a real word action after finding something on feed, it is very much advised you copy/paste your time connected to the neural net into a note.

      

      Players using the Neural Net are advised to also RP that they are actively on the net while in world, either through a computer, handheld or visible face attachment. (i.e you cant be just running around sim on patrol and scrolling through the neural net. No texting and driving people!)
