  • District ID:

     Far better than a social security number, the world government has created a way for all citizens, Natural Born and Fabricant, to maintain an identity in these dense urban areas. All 'citizens' are implanted with a District ID chip, appearing somewhat as small metallic coin behind the right ear. It is anchored to the skull and cannot be removed without serious surgery or damage. Though removing it is near impossible, there are forgers out there able to 'rewrite' them to give someone a new identity.

- Regardless of what a District ID states, a medical examination will be able to identify a Fabricant from a Natural Born.

- The Police have a google form where players can ICly fill in their character's information if they determine it's plausible for their character, but they may also fill out the form during an ID check as well. 

- During ID checks, Police must ask consent to find out a character's occupation and criminal background. 

- Police must roll a 17 or higher on a 1d20 die to detect the status of a forged ID.

  • Aerocars:

​

     Though wheeled vehicles still find common usage, the Aerocar is poised to take over the automotive industry. Designed with ionic anti-grav technology, the Aerocar is capable of traveling across any terrain, including water, and are even able to go airborne up to 100 meters. Aerocars posses a sleek, aerodynamic design and are equipped with state of the art navigation and safety systems. All Aerocars come with an Ionic Fusion Engine that can last without recharge for up to 7 days.

- District 18 utilizes a number of autonomous, self driving Aerocars as a municipal taxi service, that comes at no charge for all free citizens.

- All D18 Police Department Emergency Vehicles are Aerocars with added armor plating and specialized tracking systems.

  • Fusion Cells:

​

     A revolution in the energy industry, the Fusion Cell came at just the right time as the reserves of fossil fuels started to deplete. Utilizing a revolutionary design combining Cold Fusion processes with Ionic Reverberation technology, the Fusion Cell has provided the population with easily rechargable and affordable energy for everything from common appliances, to synths, vehicles, and even whole cities.

- Fusion Cells can last for 100 years without replacement with proper recharge and maintenance.

- Fusion Cells come in many varieties, from the Micro-Cell for personal devices and appliances, to the Ionic Fusion Cell used in many vehicles.

- Fusion Cells require large amounts of directly applied electrical energy to short out.

  • Quantum Communications:

​

     At the advent of the new Millennium, communication technology saw a revolution in the form of Quantum Entanglement. Quantum Communications have allowed for near instantaneous transmission of information across great distances without interruption. Considered to have a nearly unhackable encryption due to the speed and nature of how Quantum Entanglement works, all communication devices private and public have utilized this technology to enhance privacy. Aside from it's security, Quantum Communications has allowed for communication between Earth and the numerous settled colonies within the solar system and beyond.

- All personal and public communication devices utilize Quantum Communication technology, and all 1 to 1 communications are considered encrypted and unhackable.

- Multi person communications beyond 1 to 1 can still be hacked, though at great difficulty due to the level of encryption.

  • Space Travel:

​

    Space travel was once more achieved at the advent of the New Millennium and experience another Golden Age thanks to Ionic Reverbation, Fusion Cell, and Quantum Communications technology. Though still reserved to those of wealth and influence, space travel has become a lucrative business for a number of large corporations and conglomerates, with humanity having been able to settle a number of colonies within the solar system and beyond. Many of those colonies are considered luxury vacation destinations, though a large number also serve as research and exploration as well.

- Mars currently boasts the largest off-world human colony, providing a number of resources such as fuel and minerals for Earth.

  • Nanotech:

​

    Nanotech is still a relatively young technology, having been jointly developed by the medical and military fields for similar and disparate uses. Nanotech is essentially the usage of microscopic machines that can be programmed to react, perform, or take the shape and effect of whatever one desires. In the medical field it has found use in rapid repair of damaged organic parts as well as the removal of cancer and other foreign agents and within the military field in the form of Universal Ammunition, allowing for the usage of any kind of firearm without the need for specific bullets.

- Nanotech is currently a new technology and has minimum application, generally reserved for Law Enforcement and Medical usage.

Fabricant Technology

 

 

  • Synthetics [Androids, Drones, Machines]:

​

    Created to supplement the human workforce and provide assistance with dangerous jobs, the Synthetic, or android, was designed to appear much like their human creators. Built utilizing state of the art, cutting edge technology, Synths are capable of withstanding extreme pressure, heavy damage both physical and environmental, do not need to eat, breathe, or sleep, and can provide a wide array of functions at a speed and skill higher than most humans. While Synthetics are considered extremely durable compared to humanity, they possess a weakness to EMP and Ionic Pulse technology, which can easily shut them down upon contact.

​

    Synthetics have been utilized in a number of fields over the last century, with many advances only proving to increase their capabilities and humanities reliability on them as a workforce. Used both in the public and private sector, Synthetics are seen as ubiquitous with everyday life, though with the rise in Awakening amidst their kind, such sentiments are changing as more and more humans look upon Synthetics with a mix of awe and fear for the future.

- All Synths are weak against EMP and Ionic attacks, with their entire systems shutting down for a 2 post duration.

- All Synths are considered stronger, faster, and more durable than humans and some say smarter as well.

  • Cloning [Echoes]:

​

    Cloning for many years was seen as abhorrent, restricted by a number of major governments around the world. This all changed when humanity realized they were dying out due to the aftermath of climate change, use of bio-weapons, and war. With the increase in infertility and a dropping average lifespan, Slave-HerStell made a breakthrough in human cloning, allowing for mankind to not only create fertile surrogates to boost their falling population, but also grant a form of semi-immortality with the discovery of consciousness transfer technology, allowing aging, sick, and dying humans to live longer, healthier lives in a new body that resembled their old one.

​

    These clones, called Echoes, allowed for mankind to fight against their extinction, and within a decade of their invention, nearly every nation had legalized the usage of cloning technology, granting Sklave-HerStell and MedTek exclusive rights to utilize the technology. Since then, Echoes have had their uses expanded, no longer just surrogates and re-sleeves, but utilized as an extra workforce, allowing for humanity to fill in the undesirable roles and jobs so they don't have to. Despite the sudden Awakening all Echoes experienced, they're still considered property and treated as such within the laws of most nations and alliances.

- All  Echoes are weak against Stun and Sonic attacks, with their entire systems shutting down for a 2 post duration.

- All Echoes are considered genetically superior to humans as well as more easily modifiable.

Medical Technology

 

 

  • Cybernetics:

​

    The act of utilizing machines and technology to enhance organic functions, Cybernetics has created a renaissance in human existence. With the ability to increase eyesight into multiple spectrums, enhance ones senses in hearing and smell, increase endurance, strength, and speed, and even more exciting functions such as multiple limbs and color changing synthetic flesh, Cybernetics has allowed mankind to evolve beyond the flesh into something more.

 

        //Notes

 

- Cybernetics can easily be shut down with prolonged exposure to direct electrical energy input, shutting down all functions for a short duration.

- All Cybernetics are generally powered by the human electro-biogenic system, though can be supplanted with internal and external Fusion Cell modules.

  • Bionics:

​

     Where Cybernetics is the merging of flesh with machine, Bionics is the enhancement of flesh via organic modification and manipulation. Bionics provide those humans who, though desiring enhancement, wish to remain as human looking as possible, or fear the idea of becoming more machine than man, with the ability to increase their abilities beyond the human limit, such as enhanced speed, strength, and reflexes.

- While more limited in scope compared to Cybernetics, Bionic implants are much harder to detect and cannot be shut off.

- Bionics are generally imperceptable to the naked eye unless considered a cosmetic change such as pointed ears or non-human skin tones.

  • Genetic Alteration/Modification:

​

    Genetic Alteration and Modification is the act of taking existing genes and altering or modifying them to change the outcome of one's progeny or Echo if cloned. Genetic Alteration and Modification allows for one to essentially tailor the outcome, be it skin tone, eye color, resistance to diseases, removal of genetic diseases, or desired intelligence level. Generally reserved to the wealthy for those who seek to tailor their own progeny, it is more heavily used with Echoes, allowing Echo owners to create clones to their specifications.

Military Technology

 

 

  • Weaponry:

​

  • Lethal: Coilguns, Energy Blades, Powered Melee

​

    Weaponry as always has advanced, becoming more lethal with less skill required to utilize. While most firearms still utilize ballistic based technology, law enforcement and military groups have taken to using Coilgun technology that utilize electromagnetic coils to fire ferromagnetic projectiles at great velocities. Alongside that, melee weaponry has come back to the forefront among law enforcement and especially the criminal element with the rise in energy and powered technology, adding energy-like fields around bladed edges to shock or burn, vibrotech for a finer cut, or pneumatic powered systems to enhance the strength of an impact.

- All types of firearm considered ballistic and coilgun are available to both private and public usage, though local laws may add additional restrictions.

- No Synthetic is allowed, by law, to utilize lethal weaponry. Any found in possession of a lethal firearm is subject to deactivation and destruction.

- Melee weapons include: Vibroweapons [Blades, Batons], Powered Weapons [Fists, Hammers, Blades, Batons], and Energy [Blades, Fists, Batons] Eg. No Lightsabers.

  • Universal Ammunition:

​

    The truest advance in firearm technology has been the advent of Universal Ammunition. No longer do certain firearms require certain caliber of bullet, but instead utilize a specilized nanotech that allows for a user to modify their ammunition to fit their firearm. Beyond that, they're even capable of adding unique effects that allow for such things as shocking, exploding, or burning upon impact.

- Universal Ammunition can be used in ANY Ballistic or Coilgun based firearm regardless of caliber.

- Universal Ammunition can use ONE special effect at a time, and must be stated one post prior to firing. [Eg. Shock, Caustic, AP, Fire, Ionic.]

  • Non-Lethal: EMP Devices, Ionic Pulse Rods/Guns, Sonic Pulse Devices, Stun Devices

​

    Despite the rise in lethal weapon technology, there is still a need for non-lethal resolutions. With that, non-lethal weaponry has found advancement thanks to the miniturization of EMP technology, allowing for localized EMP blasts to shut down electronic devices in a contained area and with the rise in Synthetic Awakening, there has been a need to take down Rogue Synths safely, and with the discovery of Ionic Reverbation, law enforcement has been able to create both firearms and melee weapons that can shut down a Synth on contact with Ionic Pulse Guns and Ionic Pulse Rods.

​

    Outside the usage of non-lethal means on electronic devices and synths, general stun devices still see heavy use against organic targets as well as newly developed personal sonic devices. From stun rods to stun guns, and sonic cannons, law enforcement and security agencies have a number of methods at their disposal to handle individuals and large crowds cleanly and with minimal harm.

- All EMP devices, such as grenades and mines, have a 10M radius max and affect ALL electronic devices, including Synths, Cybernetics, and Vehicles.

- Ionic Pulse Weapons and EMP Devices ONLY affect Synths and Variants. 1 post shutdown duration for Variants, 2 for Synths.

- Sonic Pulse Devices and Stun Weapons ONLY affect Echoes and Humans. 1 post shutdown duration for Humans, 2 for Echoes.

  • K-Charge Weaponry

​

     A relatively new development in melee weaponry manufactured by Destruc-Tech, K-Charge weapons utilize highly sophisticated technology to store up acquired kinetic energy, generally by swinging them about or tapping them upon a surface, and then dispersing that stored kinetic energy upon impact against a target for an increased blow. While considered Non-Lethal when at lower K-Charge rates, they can easily become lethal at higher K-Charge rates.

- Due to their recent introduction and variable damage from non-lethal to lethal, Fabricants are currently restricted from using them, including E-Class Synths.

- K-Charge can be stored by winding up the weapon via swinging it, spinning it, or lightly tapping it upon a surface.

  • Armor:

​

    As the lethality of weaponry has grown, so too has the need to protect oneself. Personal body armor has found heavy usage among law enforcement and the military thanks to the development of Nano-Weave technology, providing flexible, durable, yet lightweight protection. Nano-Weave allows for the dispersal of high kinetic energy across a whole area, greatly decreasing the impact factor and in many cases fully stopping a projectile from penetrating. While Nano-Weave has seen great usage, it still has it's limitations, thus many organizations have found usage with Carbon-Composite plating as well, granting extra ablative protection against kinetic energy and explosives at a lightweight cost and minimal reduction in reflexes and movement.

- Nano-Weave is extremely light and durable and can withstand prolonged impact from common kinetic energy sources such as non-coilgun firearms and non-energy based melee weapons. It cannot protect against explosives, coilguns, or EMP/Ionic attacks.

- Carbon-Composite is very light and extremely durable and can withstand prolonged impact from common kinetic energy sources as well as coilgun firearms and explosives. It cannot protect against EMP/Ionic attacks.

- Nano-Weave and Carbon-Composite armor is available to both the public and law enforcement.

  • Particle Defense Shields:

​

    While armor is still considered the best defense against the rapidly advancing field of weapons technology, many scientists are looking for other ways to provide protection that can work in ways worn armor cannot. Utilizing discoveries in ionic reverberation and it's interactions with photons, scientists have discovered a way to create lightweight shielding technology they have dubbed particle defense. The combination of ionic reverberation reacting with photon emitters has allowed for compact, and contained energy fields that can provide defense against attacks, including kinetic and energy based weaponry.

 

        //Notes

 

- Particle Defense Shields are small, lightweight, and can withstand a number of impacts before dissipating. Generally most shields can handle a sustained barrage of impacts for about five minutes before it collapses and needs recharged, which takes about 2 minutes before it can be used again.

- Particle Defense Shields require a lot of power and at most handle up to three full uses a day before requiring a 12 hour recharge time. All shields utilize Micro Fusion Cells to operate.

- All Particle Defense Shields can only be used in a single direction, currently there is no way to sustain dome-like or sphere-like shields, as the energy draw and interaction with other matter is too difficult to rectify.
